I can't believe that it has been only a year since Trip and I were married. Of course, we have been together for 6 years now. We have also finally reached the mark where the time we've spent living close to each other (4 years) is longer than the time we were dating long distance (2 years).
Last night we celebrated with dinner out at Saluda's in 5-points. We had a great time and delicious meals. Trip kept fretting about the cost until I let him in on a little secret - I had a $25 off coupon! =) Since we got an appetizer, we have plenty of planned-overs for dinner tonight.
Of course, Trip and I were hoping to make a trip out of town today. I was thinking Charleston, but he might have had other plans (you never quite know with this one). BUT when we got home from dinner it was a scorching 89 degrees in our house. As in, hotter INSIDE than outside. Yes folks, our AC has died. Any money we might have spent on a trip out of town, or even a movie this afternoon, is now going to fix out AC. Thankfully it appears that we don't need a new unit. But depending on how many different parts we do need the cost will be $300-$600 or so. Hopefully we don't get charged too much for after hours rates as well. The only God send was that we still had our little window unit in the attic. So last night Trip hauled that down and set it up in the master bedroom. We spent the rest of the evening trying to stay cool until we could call for help this morning. Oh well, things never quite work out do they? I do have coupons to the movies (and a g/c thanks to Katie and Justin!) so maybe I can still drag him out for something fun.
Happy Anniversary Honey! With you by my side I know we'll always get things worked out.
