Well, it has been quite a week and a half for us. Last Saturday was my birthday (yay 26!), and we woke up to no running water. Somewhere between our well's pump house and the main house our water had frozen. We had just enough to get the doggies some heated water to unfreeze their water bowl. Then, on Tuesday we had some snow here in SC. It was really amusing to watch ALL of the local school districts announce school closings on Monday evening with the prediction of maybe an inch of snow. Definitely NOT something that would have happened in Wellesley, where the school superintendent would seem to play "chicken" with Needham's superintendent about who wouldn't close school. Anyway, so Trip and I got to go to work 2 hours late, which was nice. Although I was about the only person late to work, since I am one of the few employees who lives on the Lexington side of town where snow had accumulated. No one else thought to check the OHR website since no one else had snow yet!
Then on Wednesday morning I was in the shower when all of a sudden the water....stopped. Yup, frozen pipes again (and yes, we had been leaving the water dripping each night, even before the first incident). Thankfully I was inbetween rinsing out my shampoo and washing my face, so all I had to do was wipe my hands clean. Again, we managed just enough for the dogs. Unfortunately, this time Trip discovered a leak in a pipe by the pumphouse. Thankfully it was small and outside - just not something else we wanted to fix. Ok, enough rambling for now.
