Memorial Day weekend was Amelia's first trip! My cousin Susan got married in Atlanta, so Friday we packed up and hit the road. I have to say, Amelia was AMAZING! She was great in the car (although done after about 3 hours), great dealing with all the new people, great in the hotel. Obviously she did fuss at times and would let us know when she was over stimulated, but she was great. This was even after seeing Grandma and Grandpa again the weekend before, followed by her first few days at daycare, and then getting sick (which we found out later).
So, since I'm admittedly pretty brain dead right now, I'll just hit the highlights:
- Amelia met Uncle David, Uncle Jay and Cousin Eben for the first time
- She also met Great-Grandma Negro, her great aunts and cousins on my dad's side of the family
- She went to her first wedding and danced with Grandpa
- she went swimming with daddy! (Thank's Aunt Kate for the life jacket)
- she visited the Georgia Aquarium
Unfortunately, Amelia got sick on the trip. We didn't realize it until we got home and the green didn't go away. Thankfully she never vomited, but poor thing was sick for a whole week! No fever either! Now we are all settled in to our routines, and after some more busy weekends, we're looking forward to some quiet time together again.
