As Promised: Nursery Updates!

The crib is all set to go with bedding and the finished mobile over top
Valances with our light blocking curtains; I'm doing to use the ribbon from the shower Diaper Cake as tiebacks for the curtains.
Dresser and changing table ready to go. The bag hanging off the dresser is a wet bag for used cloth diapers. The Diaper Champ isn't going to work for cloth diapers, unfortunately, but since we'll likely use a mix of cloth and disposables to begin with it's off to to the left. On this wall we're hanging some shelves as well for pictures and knick knacks.

Eventually the glider is going in the corner the swing now occupies. And the hair bow board needs to get hung up on the wall. I'm also hoping the alphabet prints will go by the glider, but they may go along the wall behind the crib too.
Inside the closet. It appears much better organized in person, I promise!!
Close up of the finished mobile. Thank you to all the ladies from my Wellesley shower who helped get this special project together!
The mobile hanging over the crib!

So I had another OB appointment today, which went well. Today Baby Girl's heart rate was in the 140s, and everything continues to measure on schedule. I asked Dr. Morton for a weight estimate, and she said that I'm measuring right in the 50-60% percentile, so she would guess about 7 lbs. This was based off of fundal height, so just a guess really. If this is right, Baby Girl may be a bit smaller than I expected, but that is probably a good thing given my desire for a non-medicated birth!

After learning from Katie that I might not have until 42 weeks before having an induction, I made it a priority to talk with Dr. Morton about the practice's policies/procedures in this regard. She told me that they are open to elective induction after 39 weeks, but do not recommend induction until between 41 and 42 weeks. Basically they would want me to schedule to come in sometime before 42 weeks. She also said that if I really wanted to go past 42 weeks, they would let me, but I would have to sign a waiver put out by ACOG stating that I recognize the increased risk for fetal death. Pretty much I just didn't want to be forced into an induction at 41 weeks and 0 days. So this was good to know! If I make it to my next appointment, we'll schedule induction then.

Dr. Morton also said that she makes a clear distinction between labor induction and labor augmentation. She would consider any medical intervention for me to fall under the augmentation category. This is because I'm pretty labor favorable currently. No major dilation, but Baby Girl's head is engaged, and I'm soft and almost fully effaced. Really all this means to me is that I'm favorable for induction. Instead of having two medications (one to ripen the cervix and the other to produce contractions), I would only get one (to induce contractions). However, Dr. Morton said her expectation is that, if I made it that far, I wouldn't need a lot of pitocin for labor. Just enough to 'jump start' the process. They would also break my water right away too. Hopefully it doesn't come to that point though!!

Sounds like a good appointment. I was "favorable" too, and it still didn't work well. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you guys from the start!!!!!
