A Few Quick Updates

So yes, it has been awhile. Shocked, I know. Things around here continue to get more and more hectic; and I'm trying harder and harder to stay sane throughout this madness. I continue to work on my Couch25k goals - just at a WAY more relaxed pace. I finally moved on to week 4 this week. Ridiculous, I know. It wasn't for lack of trying. I had some knee issues, and then time has been consumed with other activities. Last week Trip and I jogged together at the gym. He was jogging for 3 miles. I'm not sure what my total was, but I stayed with him the first 16 minutes, walked for maybe 3 (?) and then jogged another 11 or so. His pace is SO much slower than my own. I really have a hard time jogging that slowly. It makes my legs hurt and my brain bored. Of course, I lasted way longer than I would on my own. So on Monday when I headed back to the gym solo, I re-attempted week four of the Couch25k trying to mimic Trip's pace. I made it no problems, except for the muscles that don't get used during my wider stretched out pace. Guess I'll be sticking to that pace tomorrow...

If you took a look around our house right now things would look VERY different. We've packed up a lot, but it doesn't look quite like we're moving this weekend. One of the perks of moving only 5 miles I suppose. We only have maybe 4 (oddly sized) empty boxes left. When I mentioned this to Trip, he informed me that his intent is that we'll unpack some of those boxes already in the trailer when we get into the new house this weekend. Really?! okay.... We'll see how that goes. Maybe some of my friends and family will come 'ooh' and 'ahhh' and unpack *wink* I'll try to remember to take pictures soon.

I'm also still super stressed from work. We STILL don't have a new doctor. Our latest contract doctor's last day was today. So starting next week we're back to rotations from the other clinic doctor's. They're helpful, know a lot of the clients and the system, but they're also already stressed from their regular caseload. This stress doesn't always translate well to the chaos of our clinic. To top that off, our nurse is retiring. Her last day is Friday. In a move not often seen in state government, we were actually able to hire her replacement BEFORE she left (Thank you God!), so Rose has been slowly learning the ropes the last two weeks. Hope poor thing new what she was getting in to!

And, just to prove that I'm crazy, I'm taking my ethics class for my LISW license now. So weekly, on top of packing, making new house plans, attempting to exercise regularly, I am writing papers and reading about ehtics. Thankfully it seems that I'm putting way more effort into this class than expected. Trip actually asked me the other day 'Did you work this hard all through college? No wonder you had trouble getting things done..." Yes, I care enough about my education to put effort into it. I want to understand the material, my professor's intentions etc. I can get snobby about my education at times. No lying here, but it is important. I hope my children take their own studies as seriously. But that does mean that now probably wasn't good timing. Oh well. At least I found out that work should probably reimburse my tuition!

I hope to post more this weekend after our house closing on Friday. Then the internet will switch to the new house on Monday....
