As some may remember, when my mom came to visit last fall we spent a significant part of the weekend revamping the front garden area along the front porch. I was nervous with this first venture how much was really going to return since we invested 100% in perennials. Well, I am quite pleased! Only one plant didn't make it through the winter, and most made it and are now growing furiously.

Here is a (poorly lit) picture of the annuals that Trip bought YEARS ago. Don't know why they've hung on. My mom and I actually removed them all and then put some back in honor of these hardy annuals. I forget what they're called, but they keep going strong!

This picture shows my rosemary, which was 1/2 that size at most when purchased. And my cone flowers which I split last year - I just noticed this morning that there are a few baby plants that started too. Seeds perhaps? And in the bottom left corner you can see my purple lantana just starting out.

Ok, so I am pretty sure that this is a picture of some pink sage. You can see two small magenta flowers at the bottom. Eventually it will be in full bloom more like this:

And then all off by themselves in-between azaleas and the tea olive are 3 amaryllis bulbs. You can see one has produced a flower stalk this spring! Hopefully I can have an update with more flowers than foliage in a few weeks. Right now I'm just glad that all that hard work paid off and most things survived. Phew!
