Well, here we are at two months already! A lot has changed so I will try to highlight a few things.
Amelia now:
-smiles socially
-will coo and talk (and squeal)
-is able to bear her own weight on her legs when held up
-has great head/neck strength
-enjoys going outside, and will calm down outside if fussy
-typically only wakes up once per night (YAY!)
-reaches for specific toys her on mat - current favorite is Freddie the Firefly
-enjoys the music at church, especially from the prime spot of Daddy's arms
-enjoys walking to the library
-will watch the moving toys on her bouncer chair
-can wiggle her ears
-makes a great pouty face that we find pathetically cute
This morning was Amelia's two month checkup. Unfortunately this meant getting shots, but she tolerated them reasonably well. She was able to calm down quickly, and despite some initial fussing at home, has slept most of the day. She was already not feeling well thanks to a slight cold (or something) from me, so the sleep is not surprising. Pretty much all she did this weekend was sleep. The doctor said she's doing well and there are no major changes we needed to discuss until her next checkup in June. So here are her stats as of today:
Weight was 11 lbs and 5 ounces which is 57th percentile
Length was 22 inches which is 58th percentile
I was originally hoping to get some good 2 month pictures today, but given the sleep and the shots I will hold off until tomorrow when she is feeling better.
This next month is going to be hard for us all as I make the transition back to my job. I am thinking of working part time the two weeks before Memorial Day weekend, which will give me three full weeks of 4 days or less prior to actual full time work. Hopefully this will help make the transition more tolerable for us all! My mother in law will keep Amelia my first two days back, and then her first day in daycare will be only a half day. Now, fingers crossed that I can work it out with HR!
